This is going to be a shorter blog than I normally plan on... but not only have I just come back from 2 weeks of holidays after a MASSIVE 6 months of event planning/production with AAPC (along with getting all the things in line and ready to go for 2026, our 15th BIRTHDAY!) But.... IT'S OFFICIALLY CHRISTMAS TIIIIME 🎄 Well, for some it is. For others it's something different. Some don't celebrate, some choose not to celebrate and honestly... I'm not religious. I don't celebrate for the reasons most do; I celebrate because of my own reasons. My biggest love, is the giving. Love, Acceptance, and of course - giving of time. We have such a short amount of time on this dirt and water ball; why not spend it with those who fill your heart and soul? After a time of renewal, focus and doing life thangs; I’ve been waiting for a while to unleash on this lil digital space of a blog again! At first I thought it would feel abit redundant because as I’ve been filling up notebooks and my camera with some amazing things over the time, it’s all been for me. I haven’t been updating it all on this small section of the www, but I spose it would be a good time to re-introduce myself and my plans for my little spaces. So… strap in (maybe grab a glass of bubbles – or tea, if that’s your thing?) and get ready to hear ALL about what you can expect. (I’ll actually try to just dot point things and give an overview – ya know, reasons to hang around. I’m concise. Well… some days) A lil about me – In a nutshell… 5 years ago if I said to anyone I loved being a house wife, their first instinct would be to laugh. So would mine. Let’s be frank…. I definitely know how to have a good time. I owned a dance studio and for 40-50 hours a week I was teaching people how to shimmy & shake and hang off a single body part, prepare for competing and doing countless hours of choreography. I was spending almost every weekend at events – either organising and managing them or being invited a guest to perform or judge. Along with that I was running 2 companies based around “pin-up” – a photography studio that offered and styled vintage shoots coupled with a vintage brand that housed all the clothing and accessories from the eras of those styles. I LOVED IT! But after that whole shitstorm of a year (that one where we weren’t allowed out and shizz) I found my priorities changing and in turn, the way I lived life. Do not mistake me…. I am still the absolute life of the party; but my parties nowadays involve walking my puggly in different places, making soul satisfying food, feeding my soul in other ways (never underestimate the power of buying yourself a pretty bunch of flowers and nice wine on a Friday), hosting cutesy lil dinner parties and traveling all over Australia and fulfilling my inner “party girl” by putting on sold out competitions and filling rooms with some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. Sometimes I still attend events as a guest to scribble things on paper and judge comps, show my face at VIP things and enjoy the company of some very successful people. But I no longer grace stages as a performer, or pigeon hole myself into the “pinup” scene. Convince me enough…. And I’ll probably still teach you some things though. The last 5 years of my life has filled me with more joy than I ever expected to receive. A little of the things you can expect to see/find/ be SUPER entertained with – Nowadays - I run a lifestyle brand that encompasses vintage fashion and finds alongside some of my favourite things and love to source out the most fab things to fill my webstore. I also like to get creative and crafty so you can find some super one off creations in there too. Hollow Harlot has become the place I can unleash my own creativity, and offer you some of those cutesy darky things too! I travel Australia putting on the AAPC comps. 2026 will be our 15th Year (BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS!) and I meet some of the most amazingly creative people. I’m abit boujie… being a boss babe I do like to fly bizzy class and enjoy some of the perks alongside the hard freeking work it takes to be an event producer – so I’ll show you some of these things too. I get to see some beautiful sights and see some really cool stuff and want to share these with ya’ll. (And the ways you can enjoy them without having to break the bank to do it!) I cook a lot and will offer up some of the recipes and formats of how I “indulge” on a budget. I know and utilise some incredible businesses and brands. Have this written on a piece of paper stuck to my office wall It's been a journey since I first started jotting in these blog pages, and while I have missed the tapping of the keys, there is something cathartic in not touching digital things. It's coming up on 3 years since I had plans and ideas, and they, well... f* that time in 2020 when life did a topsy turvy. Alot changed for me... and I made alot of changes. Digital is the way of the future so they say, and my itchings to move and twitch upon the keys rekindle. I feel like I've been freshly inspired and the directions the last 12 months have taken me have been incredible. I've given the old a facelift, cleaned out some of the trash, and am ready to start once again. Like a Phoenix, I'll probably stutter and cough as I spray ash in the faces of everyone and emerge from the depths... but as Hollow as a harlot can be... I'll fill your world with my warming glow.
